The games Dembele will miss as Barça forward ruled out until 2018
Medical tests on Sunday confirmed the worst case scenario for the player
He will undergo surgery in Finland and will miss around 19 Barça matches
The worst case scenario was confirmed on Sunday after Ousmane Dembele picked up an injury in the win over Getafe on Saturday. Barcelona announced that he will have to undergo surgery.
Dembele ruptured a tendon in his left leg and will be out for three-and-a-half to four months with the injury -- that's to say he won't play again until 2018.
It was Dembele himself who asked to come off at the Coliseum. It was the 25th minute and as soon as he picked up the injury he indicated to the medical staff that his game was up.
Barça gave an initial comment saying that he had injured his hamstring, although more details came out on Sunday.
It had been suggested he would miss two months, but Barcelona have confirmed it's even worst than that and that the chances of playing again this year are more than slim.
Dembele will miss Tuesday's game against Eibar and then every game up to an including the Clasico against Real Madrid on Dec. 23.
In total, he will miss 19 games in that time frame: five in the Champions League, two in the Copa del Rey and 12 in the league.
