The team have one last objective for the end of the season

Barcelona celebrated the Liga title in ecstacy on Sunday at Riazor. It is a huge success and one the team are hugely proud of, especially as it completed a domestic double. But the team do not think their work is done and they have one objective still to complete: end the season without losing a single league game. That would see them become the first team since the league was expanded to 20 teams to finish a campaign without defeat.

They don't want this season to be remembered like any other. They want to go down in history as "the invincibles".

Captain Andres Iniesta made that clear when he spoke after the game: "What interests us most now is that we win the games we have left."

Iniesta was merely reflecting the ambitions of the whole team. Winning a league without losing a single game would be a monumental achievement and would make this team truly exceptional.

Leo Messi does not usually talk to the media but he spoke after the title win and expressed his happiness about winning the league and for not losing so far.

"It's a very special league win because we haven't lost," he said.

Barcelona cannot beat the best two points totals, however.

Pep Guardiola's side got to 99 poinnts in 2009/10 and Tito Vilaova's  side got 100 in 2012/13.

The most points Barça can get is 98 if they win their final games against Real Madrid, Villarreal, Levante and Real Sociedad. But if they can remain unbeaten, they will do something truly historic.
