Valverde spoke to the player, whose agent also got in touch with the club

The Arturo Vidal problem is under control. The club has ensured the Chilean’s complaints about not playing enough have not increased after two conversations to thrash it out and move closer together on the issue.

Vidal played 20 minutes against Inter Milan and despite fans at Camp Nou whistling the change he played at a good level and had a part in the second goal.

Before the game Barca coach Ernesto Valverde had a private conversation with the player to clear the air. Vidal said he never meant to disrespect his team-mates.

The chat between both was cordial and helped improve the relationship between player and club.

Valverde admitted in his press conference that he had thought about speaking to Vidal to ask for explanations for his social media use.

Also days beforehand, Vidal’s agent Fernando Felicevich spoke on the phone with Barcas sporting directors to explain the player’s posture.

Worried about the repercussion his complaints were having and alarmed by Pep Segura’s words in Sport (Vidal’s complaints were a lack of respect to his team-mates and I’m sure he will say sorry), Felicevich tried to make sure the issue didn’t get any bigger.
