The coach's words were not liked by the squad after their win over Eibar
Ronald Koeman’s sincerity level is inversely proportional to his diplomacy, a characteristic that sometimes is confused with hypocrisy. That’s a defect the Dutch coach has. Koeman has been ‘without filter’ this season and it has had consequences. He even said he’s not the best coach for Barca after the Eibar game. Harder to find someone more self-critical, but not all players liked his comment about the squad, saying it was not up to scratch.
Not because he’s wrong necessarily, but because a day before he had asked for ‘respect’ for the same players that now he was doubting himself. That change of tone created tension during Barca’s return from the Basque country.
A lot of players are thinking about their future, conscious that the summer could be a big one in terms of ins and outs.
From day one the players have thought Koeman was quite straightforward and sincere, but this has not been the case this week.
