Suarez admits it was "painful" when Neymar left for Paris Saint-Germain

Luis Suárez: Se echa de menos a Neymar / | Laura M. Guerrero

The Uruguay striker has a great friendship with the Brazilian

He revealed what he and Messi said to him before he left

Luis Suarez missed Neymar, a player he had a great friendship with. He has not hidden that, personally, he did not want the Brazilian to leave Paris Saint-Germain, but he doesn't hold his decision against him.

The Uruguayan striker says that Barça "miss Ney on the pitch but even more off it" in an interview with SPORT. "He transmits happiness and joy all the time."

"IT WAS PAINFUL"

If it had been up to Suarez, Ney would still be at Camp Nou: "I tried to convince him to stay because I think here's the best place for him, but it's a decision he had to take."

Suarez also doesn't think Neymar regrets that decision: "Not at all. Ney is mature enough to know if he regrets leaving and he would say it himself, it doesn't need to be said by other people."

He also revealed that he and Lionel Messi told Neymar they "didn't want him to leave but we never said 'Don't go because you won't be happy.'

"We said we didn't want him to go, but that he was free to do what he wanted. Because of the friendship we have, it was painful that he left."
