The Girona striker, who was an alternative to Kevin Prince Boateng, insists he doesn't have a relegation release clause in his new deal

Girona's star striker, Cristhian Stuani, told RAC1's 'Tu Diras' radio programme that the interest from Barça was real. As revealed by SPORT, Stuani was one of the people on the club's shortlist in the January transfer window but they eventually signed Kevin Price Boateng instead.

"Yes, there was interest from Barcelona. I'm proud that a team as great as Barcelona thought about me. But I'm also happy about signing a new deal with Girona," the Uruguayan forward confessed.

His contract at Girona doesn't include a clause should they be relegated from LaLiga. "No, there's no relegation clause. I'm convinced that we won't be relegated. Our objective is to remain in the division," concluded Stuani.
