The data regarding attendance at Montjuïc for FC Barcelona is significantly different from the previous season (2022-2023). The differences are staggering. The 39,603 spectators who attended the only official match played to date, the La Liga game against Cádiz, represent a decrease of nearly 44,000 people compared to last year's average attendance in the same competition. According to UEFA data, there were 83,498 attendees on average in the 19 matches played at the Spotify Camp Nou.

One of the objectives set by Joan Laporta during his second term as president was to rekindle the enthusiasm among members and fans, which was expected to translate into increased attendance at the stadium. The data shows that this goal has been more than achieved. The organization governing European football confirms this in 'The European Club Talent and Competition Landscape,' an extensive report that analyzes the growth of spectators in European stadiums.

In this regard, FC Barcelona was the club with the best numbers among all the leagues in the continent, with 83,498 spectators per match. In fact, it is the only club that surpasses one and a half million fans (1,586,457) in its stadium. Manchester United comes in second place, with 1,399,749 attendees at Old Trafford for the Premier League. They are closely followed by Borussia Dortmund (1,380,875), as well as the two Milan clubs that share a stadium (Inter, 1,379,978, and Milan, 1,364,728). The first French team to appear in the rankings is Olympique de Marseille, which hosts 62,739 fans per match at the Vélodrome and records a total figure of 1,192,045 during Ligue 1 matches. These are impressive numbers considering that the stadium's capacity is 67,000 spectators.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, falls far short of these numbers (56,644 fans per match and 1,076,242 in total). It's important to note that the capacity of the Madrid stadium has been reduced during the remodeling works. Nevertheless, UEFA's report demonstrates that football remains very much alive among the fans. The 2022-2023 season, with 109 million spectators across all leagues, marks the highest attendance figure in history.
