The Catalans have penned a deal with the music streaming company that will be sealed soon

Barcelona are a step away from announcing a global sponsorship deal with Spotify. It’s almost sealed, with just a few little t’s to cross and i’s to dot. Spotify chief Daniel Ek is in Barcelona to negotiate these final things.

It will earn Barcelona around 75 million euros a season in each of the next three years, including being the shirt sponsor on the men’s and women’s kit, the back part of the training kit and the naming rights to Camp Nou during the remodelling of the stadium.

Barcelona think it’s a positive deal taking into account the market in the time of the pandemic and that there are other rights to sell still too. Also, it’s the first deal forged in the post-Messi era and the team are not in the Champions League.

The first team kit sponsorship is valued at 60m, the part on the back at 5m. The women’s shirt at 5m. And the naming rights at 5m during the Espai Barça works. Once it’s finished, Barcelona will look for a new contract for around 20-25 million euros a season.

The club say that the quantities can increase still, with a sleeve and the front of the training kits still available for both the mens and women’s team.
