Coutinho is a Barça player for the next five seasons
The Catalan club have closed a deal with Liverpool
The soap opera of the summer is over... in winter. Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho will be a Barcelona player for the next five years after the Catalan club closed an agreement with Liverpool worth an initial €120 million, with another €40m in variables.
SPORT have learned from sources close to the player that the deal was closed on Saturday afternoon and that the player will arrive in the city in the evening. Everything is prepared at Can Barça for the player to be presented at Camp Nou on Monday, although he could be at the club's home before for Sunday's game against Levante.
After failing to do the transfer in the summer, Barça's second attempt at landing the 25-year-old has come up trumps and Ernesto Valverde now has one of the players he wanted at the beginning of the season.
