Barça are understood to hold an interest in the Arsenal striker if Braithwaite leaves

As reported a couple of days ago, Barça are currently monitoring the situation of Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. According to SPORT sources, were Braithwaite to leave Camp Nou, the Gabonese international would be near the top of the list of replacements. However, as we reported earlier in the week, Barça officials are aware that they would only be able to bring 'Auba' to Catalonia if it were as part of a swap deal.

Sky Sports are now reporting that Barça would be willing to offer Philippe Coutinho in exchange for the player. The Brazilian midfielder, who is still recovering from a knee injury, is Barça's second highest-paid player after Antoine Griezmann. Given the club's precarious financial situation, they would not be against getting the player off their wage bill in order to bring in another forward.

Aubameyang, meanwhile, signed a contract extension with the North London club until 2024 last season. However, Arsenal's failure to qualify for any form of European competition could lead the striker to consider his options.
