The Germany international is one of the most coveted young strikers in Europe

RB Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi has rejected the chance to join Barcelona and is close to signing for Borussia Dortmund, according to Sky Sports in Germany.

As one of the young stars of German football, Adeyemi is keen to return to his homeland after making the move to Austria and is ready to say no to LaLiga for now.

Adeyemi, who's also being tracked by Real Madrid as a backup option to Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, is the subject of a 40 million euro bid from Barça, according to the reports.

However, both Salzburg and Adeyemi are said to have rejected the proposal, with the lack of an exciting project at Camp Nou said to the primary reason for the player's no.

At Dortmund, he also believes he will be more visible to national team coach Hansi Flick as he tried to become a regular for Germany in the coming years.

Adeyemi, 19, is one of the attackers on Barça's wishlist at they look to rebuild their forward line following the losses of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann last summer.

The Salzburg striker has shot to fame this season, scoring 15 goals in 26 games in all competitions and breaking into the Germany squad, scoring one goal in three caps.
