Simeone won't 'speak about Griezmann because he plays for another team'
The forward returns to Atletico Madrid on Sunday after leaving for Barça in the summer
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone didn't want to add to the 'morbo' ahead of Antoine Griezmann's return to the club with Barcelona on Sunday.
Griezmann spent five years at Atletico but he left in the summer when Barça paid his €120 million release clause to take him to Camp Nou.
"I am not going to speak about Griezmann because he plays for another team," Simeone said. "I have spoken a number of times about what I think of him."
Pressed on the France forward and what his team has lost without him, Simeone stood firm: "I repeat what I said before. The numbers and the history speak for themselves. We look to improve and to score by being aggressive in both boxes."
Asked if Griezmann will be cheered or jeered on his return to the Wanda, he said: "The reaction from the fans is their decision."
Now looking ahead to the game, Simeone finished. "Barça are doing really well, creating good football with extraordinary players. I hope we have a great game."
