Barça would love to sign the French centre-back but money is tight

They would include players in a potential deal but Sevilla aren't interested

Sevilla have warned Barcelona they will not accept any players as makeweights to bring down the cost of a deal for defender Jules Kounde.

The LaLiga side don't want any of the players put on the table by Barça for different reasons and are demanding €60 million for the France international. It would be a record sale that would allow them to re-model their squad.

Sevilla are convinced they will have to sell Kounde this summer and he is prioritising a move to Barça given the pace with which Chelsea have progressed negotiations so far.

Barça sounded out a deal for Kounde weeks ago and have intensified their offensive after learning Chelsea have still not reached an agreement with the player.

Sevilla have opened the door to talks as well due to Chelsea's lack of a formal offer this summer. Sevilla, through an intermediary, alerted Barça to the situation and are waiting to see if the Blaugrana can come up with the financial muscle to do a deal.

That could wake Chelsea up. The Premier League side need a new centre-back after the departures of Andreas Christensen (Barça) and Antonio Rudiger (Real Madrid).

Barça suggested several players to Sevilla but all were ruled out. Sergiño Dest was an option but he does not want to leave Camp Nou, while Clement Lenglet is off the table because they can't pay even 40% of his current salary.

The other names were quickly ruled out. Sevilla only want cash.
