Setien on the possibility of resting Lionel Messi in the Copa del Rey
Barça face Ibiza in the cup on Wednesday night
Quique Setien spoke to the press on Tuesday ahead of Barcelona's Copa del Rey game against Ibiza on Wednesday.
One of the unknowns heading into that cup game is the presence of Lionel Messi. The Argentine forward is likely to be left behind and rested, although Setien wouldn't give anything away.
Asked if he was planning on giving Messi a breather, the coach said: "it doesn't escape anyone who Leo Messi is. But the same as all the players, I will try to convince them what's best for them.
"It can be debated after... I am not a coach who enforces (decisions), generally (the players) pay attention.
"For now, we have training and we have to assess things. I have a plan in mind but we have to see what happens in training, how the rest of the players (are) and pick an XI that is competitive and balanced."
After the press conference, Barça trained at 6pm with the squad expected to be announced on Wednesday morning.
