The Barça coach spoke about UEFA's plans to finish the competition in August

Barcelona coach Quique Setién insists that the second leg of the Catalan side's Champions League tie against Napoli should be played at Camp Nou, not a neutral venue, as UEFA are studying.

"I would like to play he here," he said on Thursday. "We played the first leg at their ground -- and with fans. It would be different if we had to play the second leg at a neutral ground with empty stands. We would be giving the advantage to the rival."

UEFA are looking into playing the remaining last 16 games where they are scheduled to be played -- Camp Nou in Barça's case -- but are also studying the possibility of playing them in Portugal depending on how coronavirus evolved in Europe.

The first leg in Naples ended 1-1 with Antoine Griezmann's second-half goal earning Barça a draw.

A dangerous format

Beyond the last 16, what is known is that the quarterfinals, semifinals and final will all be one-legged affairs, played at a neutral venue in Lisbon.

"I think it's worse, not for Barça, but for everyone," Setien said of the new format. "With two games, you have the chance to make up for an accident in one of them. I think everyone would like to play two games, but circumstances are what they are and it's what UEFA have decided.

"We have to prepare for it mentally so we don't make mistakes ... what I do hope is that we can play Napoli second leg here, as I said. We saw the importance of home fans in the first leg in Italy."

The Champions League will be completed in August.
