The Real Madrid captain believes Leo is at the point in his career where he doesn't owe Barça anything

Real Madrid and Spain captain Sergio Ramos spoke at a press conference for the national side today and gave his take on Lionel Messi's decision to leave FC Barcelona.

"Messi's situation we should leave to one side, it doesn't involve us," he told the media. "He's won the respect to decide his future, although I don't know if he's gone about it the wrong day."

On whether he'd want Messi to stay in LaLiga, Ramos said: "For Spanish football and because we want to beat the best, I'd like for him to stay here. He makes his team and the Clasicos even better but let's see. It isn't something I'm personally worried about."

Ramos also spoke about his joy at Luis Enrique being back in charge of Spain. "His return is great news, I can't explain it with words. He's a fantastic coach and his trophy haul proves that. We're happy that he is leading us."
