Sergiño Dest turns down big money moves to three clubs

The young full back has shown his commitment to Barça by saying 'no' to proposals by three big clubs

Sergiño Dest is only interested in playing for FC Barcelona. The American full back has received various offers this summer, with the latest proposals arriving in the last few days. However, as reported by SPORT a few weeks ago, the ex-Ajax defender has no interest in leaving the Camp Nou. He remains focused on developing at Barça, as he knows that he has a manager who trusts him and is aware that he still has room to improve. He hasn't even considered the offers, despite the opportunity to earn more money elsewhere.

Three clubs have made moves to sign the player in the last few days: Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco. However, the response to each offer was "Thanks, but no". Dest does not want to leave.

Dest is aware that Barça may have been tempted to cash in on him this summer, given the fact that he is young and could command a decent transfer fee. However, the club quashed these rumours by informing the right back that they have total faith in him. Koeman also has high hopes for the player ahead of his second season at Camp Nou.

Dest may be used as an alternative to Jordi Alba at left back, having played in this position various times for his national side. He also played there on a few occasions for Barcelona last year. Since Barcelona doesn't look like signing a replacement for new Leeds signing Junior Firpo, it looks as though Dest and Balde will be the alternatives to Jordi Alba this season.
