The defender hurt his ankle on international duty but should be fit to play

Barcelona reported Sergino Dest’s ankle injury officially on Wednesday. He twisted it and had to go off, ringing alarm bells. SPORT reported that the player’s first sensations were not worrying. In fact, Dest thought he would be able to play against Sevilla this weekend, had the game not been suspended.

His ankle is not improving quite as quickly as he hoped, but although some media outlets say he might not be able to make the Bayern game, SPORT has learned that Dest is expecting he will be able to play in their Champions League opener.

Dest expects the inflammation will lessen in the coming days and he will OK for the game. If not, then Oscar Mingueza will be in line for the right back slot.
