The midfielder will be out for a while and will be operated on in Finland

Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto will have to take surgery on his hamstring injury in the coming days. It will be done in Finland by doctor Lasse Lempainen. The Catalan has not played since the defeat by Rayo Vallecano and will be out of action for potentially several months. The doctor is the same one that worked on Ousmane Dembele’s injury in June after he hurt himself at Euro 2020.

Sergi Roberto joins Ansu Fati, Martin Braithwaite, Pedri and Kun Aguero out of action. He has just played in 12 games so far this season.

The midfielder has played 316 games for Barcelona with 12 goals and 37 assists since debuting under Pep Guardiola. His contract expires at the end of the season.
