Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto's objective this season is to win his place back in the Spain squad for the World Cup.
Speaking after signing his new contract on Thursday, he said he will work hard in a bid to go to Russia this summer.
"Of course, it would be a dream to go to the World Cup," he responded when asked about making Julen Lopetegui's squad.
"It's really close now and I hope to get lucky and that the coach counts on me, because it's what every player wants.
"I hope Julen Lopetegui gives me the chance to be at the World Cup. At the very least, I am going to work hard for it."
So far, Roberto has only played twice for Spain under Lopetegui. His performances and his versatility on the pitch, though, could convince the La Roja boss to include him on his list this summer.
