The German club were purring about the Frenchman's performance at the weekend

While Quique Setien is struggling to form a back four for Barcelona's trip to Mallorca this Saturday, with Clement Lenglet banned and Samuel Umtiti battling fitness issues, Jean-Clair Todibo is being praised by Schalke 04, the club he joined on loan in January after a lack of football at Camp Nou.

The German club posted a tweet on their official account on Monday highlighting Todibo's passing statistics and anticipation in the game against Hoffenheim at the weekend. It was the first time he'd played a full game in the Bundesliga. Four days prior, he had played 90 minutes in the cup defeat to Bayern Munich.

Todibo completed 91.5 percent of his passes and won 84.6 percent of his individual duels in the match.

The French defender has overcome a slow start in Germany and has now played seven times for his new club, five times in the Bundesliga and twice in the cup. Given his form, Schalke 04 are expected to pay the 25 million euro option they have to make the deal permanent in the summer.

To sign him back, Barça would have to pay 50 million. Seeing the problems they've had in defence in recent weeks, Todibo could have been useful.
