The Brazilian's demand for 60 million euros was turned down by the CAS

Santos say they will accept the Court of Arbitration's decision after they ruled that Barcelona do not have to pay them any more for the Neymar transfer.

The Brazilian side had been claiming 61.2 million euros from the Catalan club due to misgivings in the deal that took Neymar to Camp Nou in 2013.

They said they would not dispute the CAS' ruling but urged Barça to show more transparency when doing deals in the future -- like their Clasico rivals Real Madrid.

"Santos regret, although will respect, the decision to reject the inquestionable fact that the club was wronged in the operation," the club said in an official statement.

However, in a note to Barça, they called for "a new chapter of transparency and honesty" when it comes to future signings using "the example of the transfer of Rodrygo Goes to Real Madrid."

Barça had earlier said: "The Court of Arbitration for Sport has dismissed the appeal made by Santos to FIFA in which the Brazilian club claimed payment of 61,295,000 euros in damages from FC Barcelona and the corresponding sporting bans with regards to the transfer of Neymar Jr," a statement from Barça read on Tuesday.

"The CAS considers that the contract between Santos and the player was ended by mutual agreement, that FC Barcelona did not infringe any transfer agreement when it paid additional amounts to the father of the player and to the N&N company and that FC Barcelona did not behave in a fraudulent manner when it signed a pre-contract with Neymar Jr nor when it signed a transfer agreement with Santos.

"The CAS verdict compels Santos to pay FC Barcelona's legal costs, a figure of 20,000 Swiss francs."
