Sandro Tonali is the latest name to have appeared on FC Barcelona's transfer wish list. The Brescia midfielder has burst onto the scene this season and it hasn't gone unnoticed across Europe. At just 19 years of age, Tonali has proven himself to be ready for the big time. The midfielder has been capped by Italy at the highest level and is comfortable playing anywhere in midfield. He can slot in as a '6' or an '8', which only adds to his value, but Barça are ready to battle for his signature.
‘Corriere dello Sport’ claims Barça are willing to pay up to €60m for Tonali, something which isn't true, as the Camp Nou offices value the midfielder at around €30m. Another option would be to stagger the payments out and include loaning a youngster to Brescia to cover the loss of Tonali.
Inter Milan, Juventus, PSG and Manchester City have all shown an interest in the teenager but Brescia want to wait before making a decision. Pep Guardiola's side have reportedly tracked Tonali's progress for nearly two years and are believed to be the favourites for his signature.
Tonali has been compared with Iniesta but Barça see him more like Modric. In a short period of time, due to his quality and versatility, he's a key member of the Italy setup.
Barça know Tonali is willing to take a massive step forward and that the lure of the Camp Nou is strong for any technically gifted footballer. They are very much in the race to sign the midfielder but won't pay any price to land him either.
