The Wolves and Portugal man is wanted by Barça

Barcelona's priority is to find a replacement for Sergio Busquets next season and Ruben Neves remains an option.

Despite Frenkie de Jong staying this summer and playing in Busquets' position when required, the position is still one Barça want to strengthen.

Barça sounded out a move for Neves last summer but the economic differences with Wolverhampton Wanderers ruled out a deal.

Neves has a contract until 2024 and reports in England expect him to leave next summer, with Jorge Menses as his agent.

At 25 he has become the focal point of the Wolves side and Barça, the player and his agents are all open to a deal.

Other options are proving more difficult, such as Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi, especially if he renews his contract in San Sebastian.

His current terms expire in 2025 but La Real want to extend until 2027 with a €90m release clause.

Therefore, Neves' chances of a move to Barça have grown.
