Ronald Koeman's opinion on Barcelona's four new signings
The coach spoke about Aguero, Garcia, Depay and Emerson Royal
Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman spoke to Barca TV on various topics, including how the club is setting up at the start of the new season.
“We’re a club who tries to play well, attractive football, but we have the responsibility of winning big things,” explained the Dutchman.
On the four new signings, Koeman gave his opinion.
“(Aguero) is important, because we have to improve our performance up front and he’s an experienced and dangerous player in the box. The important thing is that he’s physically well and our objective is to keep him in the best shape.”
Another new arrival is Memphis Depay. “I know Memphis very well and he knows how I work. He’s got a lot of character, physical attributes, speed, can play in different positions in attack. He’s at a perfect age to show he can work here at Barca.”
Eric Garcia is the main defensive reinforcement.
“He’s had a great Euros. He comes here, despite his youth, with a lot of experience. He plays in the same position I did. With the ball he’s very good and we can improve from the back with him.”
Finally, Barca also brought in Emerson from Real Betis. “He’s one of the best full-backs in the league, he’s been called up by Brazil despite all the competition. He’ll bring us a lot physically and fits our way of playing.”
