Ronald Koeman still not officially able to take charge of Barca
He may even have to direct the team's La Liga debut from the stands against Villarreal
Ronald Koeman can not yet sit on Barcelona's bench and manage the team in an official game. The Dutchman is doing so in pre-season friendlies but he needs the club to solve the Quique Setien situation first if he wants to be in charge against Villarreal in the club's first La Liga match.
Per Cope radio, the RFEF have not yet been able to consider Koeman appointed because Quique Setien's contract is still being paid. The Cantabrian and Barcelona have not yet reached a deal for his pay-off after sacking him, which is impeding Koeman being appointed officially.
Barca have 10 days to solve the problem or Koeman will have to work from the stands, a handicap for the coach.
