The Dutchman has been binned by the club after a beating at Rayo Vallecano

Ronald Koeman will be sacked as Barcelona coach. The defeat against Rayo has been the straw that broke the camels back and with the team also losing the Clasico, sinking in La Liga and potentially not making it through the Champions League group phase, playing bad football, the club have made their decision. It’s not official yet, but they are preparing a statement.

They kept him in the summer and again backed him ahead of the Atletico Madrid defeat, but the situation is unsustainable. With everything at stake, Barcelona have decided to go for new blood.

Koeman will leave the club he led to glory at Wembley in 1992, to their first Champions League win. He coached the team in 67 games and won one Copa del Rey.
