Ronald Koeman: I'd give the team a 10 out of 10

The Barca coach is pleased with how his players have done so far this season

FC Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman said he is very proud of the team’s performance this season so far.

Speaking ahead of the Sevilla clash in the Copa del Rey semi-final, Koeman was asked if he thought just winning the cup would make a good season.

“What is a good year for Barca?” said Koeman. “We always aspire to win everything. We know the problems we have. It seems that we are striving a lot of things. I want to highlight the mentality and character of the team.

“We have a quality side, although we lack competition in certain positions. But with the absences and the travel all through January, at the moment I’ll give the team a 10.”

The coach continued. “You can learn a lot from this season as a coach, even though I’m older. This year we’ve changed things at the club and I think we are on a good path. We gave opportunities to the kids, we have made a team for the future, but without forgetting that we have to win games. What we are doing is important.

“After the game against Granada, many Barca fans told me that it had been some time since they celebrated goals like that night. As coach it’s something to be proud of when the fans are back with the team.”
