Romanian referee Ovidiu Haţegan has been picked by UEFA to take charge of the clash between Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona at Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday.

It will be the fourth time he has taken charge of the Catalan side in Europe, and they have won the other three matches. He is 39 and became an international ref in 2008.

He will be accompanied by his usual assistants, Octavian Șovre and Sebastian Eugen Gheorghe, with Sebastian Constantin Colțescu as the fourth official. 

Polish ref Szymon Marciniak and his compatriot Tomasz Kwiatkowski will be working in the VAR room. That will be situated outside the stadium.

The first time he reffed Barca was the 7-0 win over Celtic in Glasgow. Then the 1-0 win over Sporting Lisbon in 2017-18 and last seaon's 2-0 triumph over Inter Milan.
