The Spain U21 man feels he deserved more of a chance at Camp Nou

Roma forward Carles Perez has spoken to EFE about his disappointment at the way his exit from Barcelona came about in January.

Perez scored his first goal for Barça's first team in the win over Real Betis this season in August and was regularly involved before being sold to Roma in the winter transfer window.

"Since I was U16s I have had offers to leave Barcelona, some from England," Perez explained. "Even when I was in Barça B I had offers from La Liga sides but I always said no because I wanted to make the first team.

"Then I had some chances and I think I took advantage of them as well as I could. In fact, I even was given a contract as a first-team player.

"For me, it was a surprise when they decided to get rid of me, I didn't feel I deserved it. But it is something that happened months ago. I am at Roma now, one of the best clubs in Italy."
