The Dutch forward will be allowed to leave Camp Nou during the January window

Roma are working hard to sign Barcelona and Netherlands forward Memphis Depay in January. the Italian club have been in contract with the player's camp and the Catalan club to try and reach an agreement, according to Leggo.it, and hope to strike a deal.

Coach Jose Mourinho has asked for the arrival of Memphis to help his team in front of goal in the second half of the season. Roma made a big effort in the market in the summer to bring in the likes of Wijnaldum, currently injured, and Dybala and now want to add the Barça attacker.

For now, Barça are asking for around €2 million for Memphis, although Roma want him on a free transfer or loan, as his Barça contract expires in June. There are also problems relating to Memphis' financial demands, although Roma are pushing ahead with talks with his agents.

Memphis wanted close to €7m annually from Juve in the summer and talks broke down. Now he wants to be an important player in a team again and could drop his demands. Manchester United are also interested but not have not yet taken any steps to push a deal through. Memphis played for United prior to moving to Lyon, who he left for Barça on a free in 2021.
