Young midfielder Riqui Puig was one of the protagonists as Barca drew 2-2 at Balaidos against Celta Vigo. The cantera player impressed in midfield, showing he can be another option for regular performances.
It was his debut this season as a starter, and sixth league game this season in total. He passed with intelligence and brought momentum to the midfield. Riqui played as left interior midfielder and constantly appeared to receive the ball from Ivan Rakitic and work with Ansu Fati and Jordi Alba. He did not lose the ball and worked hard when it came to defending.
He lacked intensity perhaps when it came to pressing on Celta's first goal. Maybe it's just that he needs more minutes to get match fit though.
In stoppage time in the first half the midfielder tried his luck from distance but it went well wide. He might need to improve his shooting.
Quique Setien took him off for Arthur in the 86th minute. However Barcelona let in a late equaliser and lost vital points after that.
