The midfielder scored the winning spot kick as Barça beat Real Sociedad

Riqui Puig was finally able to celebrate a goal in a Barcelona shirt. It won't go down in the history books but it was a crucial strike that booked his team's place in the final of the Spanish Supercopa.

Puig stepped up to take the fifth penalty for Barça as they beat Real Sociedad after drawing 1-1 after 90 minutes and extra time.

The young midfielder, who's had very few chances to impress this season, explained how he came to take the vital spot kick in Cordoba.

"Ronald had four names written down and he asked who wanted to take the fifth," Puig told Movistar. "I was the first one to put my hand up."

On his lack of action, he added: "Even though I don't play much, things are going well: I have my family, my health. I can't complain about anything.

"If Ronaly gives me minutes, I will be grateful and try to take them; if not, I will keep working hard. I am never going throw the towel in."
