Ronald Koeman has rewarded the Albanian striker for his performance in Wednesday's friendly by including him in first team training

FC Barcelona continues to prepare for the 2021-22 season at the Joan Gamper Training Ground. Yesterday's session was notable for the presence of four players from Barça B: Rey Manaj, Nils Mortimer, Igor Gomes and N'Diaye.

The session began at the usual time of 09:15 a.m. However, on this occasion, the group trained on the Campo Tito Vilanova instead of the usual second pitch. Head coach Ronald Koeman planned a session which included a ball skills and physical work circuit, involving the available first team players and the four players from Barça B mentioned above.

De Jong's juggling skills

One of the best pieces of footage from yesterday's session showed Frenkie De Jong juggling a ball through a set of poles without letting it touch the floor once. After more than 20 kick-ups with both feet, the Dutch midfielder ended up cushioning the ball into a bin at the end of the mini obstacle course.

The next training session will take place at 09:15 a.m. on Saturday morning, after which Ronald Koeman will announce the list of players called up for the first team's second pre-season friendly later on in the day. The game will be against local rivals Girona, with the fixture kicking off at 7 p.m. at the Estadio Johan Cruyff.

Since the start of pre-season, the first team squad has completed nine sessions (with one double session last Tuesday), has played one game (against Nàstic de Tarragona on the 21st) and has had three rest days. Barça's French and Dutch internationals trained on the third of these days off, after their return from their post-tournament holidays.
