Revealed: Joao Felix's stunningly low salary to push through Barcelona loan

The Catalan club will pay the forward just €400,000 for his season on loan from Atletico

It is no secret that Joao Felix has made a huge financial effort to sign for FC Barcelona, his "dream" and the club he wanted to go to, as he made clear last June.

Deco and Joan Laporta thanked him during his presentation for his help in lowering his salary to be able to sign and fit in with the league's financial fair play rules, known for their tightness.

Well, according to the journalist Pedro Morata, from Cadena COPE, the Portuguese striker's effort has been very considerable because he claims that Joao Félix will receive only €400,000 for the whole season. However, the same information reminds us that for the purposes of financial fair play, LaLiga computes Barça paying €4 million even if he actually earns €400,000.

For their part, Atletico Madrid, who finally agreed to transfer him without any consideration (they wanted to collect the amortization) will pay him the proportional % of 2 months work (July and August), which is approximately €1.5 million.

Before signing the loan to come to Barça, Joao Félix renewed his contract with the Madrid club until 2029 so that the Colchoneros can lower the annual amount to be paid for his amortization.

The Portuguese striker has also agreed to a 50% reduction in his contract for the period 2024-2029 with Atlético de Madrid.
