The City Football Group have put together a detailed package for the Barça star

Following the constant rumours arriving from France, now it seems it's England's turn. According to The Sun, Manchester City are still following Lionel Messi in the case he decides to leave Barcelona this summer and are prepared to offer him a huge deal for the final years of his career.

However, the amount City are planning to offer this time around isn't as much as they would have offered last summer, with a reduction of around 200 million euros (170m GBP) according to the reports.

Messi would receive up to 500m euros for a contract that would link him to the City Football Group franchise, if not exclusively Man City, for between five and eight years. Two years with the option of a third with City before two more years with New York City in the MLS.

The Argentine would also have the possibility to play for a club in the United Arab Emirates or even India, extending his link with the City brand to eight years.

Last summer's offer was worth around 690m euros.

At City, the value the Messi commercially as a player that adds around 300 million euros to Barça's revenue and, for that reason, feel the offer is sufficient. For now, Messi's focused on Barcelona's season and will decide his next step in the coming months. In England and France, as we have seen, they would welcome him with open arms if he decides to leave Camp Nou.
