Red Bull Salzburg's Dayotchanculle Upamecano is a Barcelona target

FC Barcelona have their eye on Dayotchanculle Upamecano, Red Ball Salzburg centre-back. The 18 year old player made his debut under Oscar Garcia Junyent in the first team last season and this year has become an indisputable starter. 

Red Bull Salzburg are conscious that Barcelona have been following him, although many sporting directors in Europe consider him one of the best prospects in the world. Manchester City are also interested in the defender's situation.

Upamecano plays for France's youth sides, which is where he aroused Barcelona's interests, in the U17 youth tournament in Bulgaria which France won. From there they have tracked him in Austria. Red Bull paid 2.2m euros for him from Valenciennes.

The defender stood out for his ability to bring the ball out and his excellent anticipation. Oscar Garcia has also used him in midfield. What's more, Upamecano has never hidden his passion for Barcelona either. The problem is that he was close to signing for Bundesliga leaders Red Bull Leipzig, but an offer from Camp Nou might make him chane his mind. They would be the only side that would change his mind.
