The La Liga side have been hit by a coronavirus outbreak during the international break

Real Valladolid coach Sergio Gonzalez revealed on Saturday that his side will be missing a number of players for Monday's trip to Barcelona. "It's been a shit week," Sergio said ahead of the La Liga game at Camp Nou.

Orellana had already been ruled out before the international break due to an accumulation of yellow cards but several more players have since contracted the coronavirus.

Roberto Jiménez, Joaquín Fernández, Míchel Herrero, Luis Pérez and Kike Pérez -- and possibly Weissman, who returned from international duty with a knock -- will all miss out.

In addition, El Yamiq and Fede San Emeterio pulled out of training on Saturday with knocks, while Kiko Olivas is still two weeks away from a return to action, with Jota and Raúl Carnero also still out.

In total, Valladolid could be without up to 12 players for the trip to Barcelona, although they will still look to "surprise" Ronald Koeman's side.

Sergio said: "These two weeks were supposed to be for recharging our batteries but it's been the opposite, due to the absences caused by Covid and now (the injuries) to Weissman, El Yamiq and Fede.

"It's a complicated situation but I am convinced the team we put out will do well. We know how good the opponent is, but we go into the game with hope and to try and get a positive result. We must be convinced in our plan for the game and try to cause a surprise."
