Barcelona travel to San Sebastian on Saturday to play on the new surface

Real Sociedad put their new pitch to the test on Friday as they trained at Anoeta ahead of Barcelona's visit to San Sebastian this weekend.

The La Real players trained at their stadium for the first time since a new grass surface was laid last week.

There were fears about the state of the pitch following the disaster in Real Valladolid, when Barça won 1-0 as the surface cut up dangerously having been recently installed.

However, during the session led by coach Asier Garitano, the surface at Anoeta seemed in good shape ahead of the Barça game on Saturday. It doesn't look like there will be any problems.

Work has been ongoing at La Real's home this summer, with the Basque club removing the running track which had previously surrounded the pitch.

Willian Jose missed Friday's training session and looks set to sit out this weekend's game, while Raul Navas and Hector Moreno returned from injuries.
