Lewandowski scored twice and Ansu changed the game off the bench

Ansu Fati came off the bench to help Barcelona beat Real Sociedad 4-1 on Sunday as Robert Lewandowski scored his first goals for his new club.

Lewandowski scored two and made one on his 34th birthday, but it was Ansu’s two assists and late goal which swung the game in Barça’s favour.

Ousmane Dembele was also on target for Xavi Hernandez’s side, while Alexander Isak had earlier cancelled out Lewandowski’s opener.

Barca now have four points from their opening two games following last week’s goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano, while La Real have three points.

Lewandowski took just 50 seconds to open the scoring, turning home Alex Balde’s cross after a fine pass from Pedri.

La Real equalised soon after, though, Isak’s deflected effort beating Marc-Andre ter Stegen after Frenkie de Jong had lost the ball in midfield.

Ter Stegen made good saved from David Silva and Mikel Merino to keep Barça ahead, although the Catalans also had their own chances.

But it wasn’t until Ansu came on that the game changed. He immediately set up Dembele with a superb backheel and then teed up Lewandowski.

Ansu then completed the rout with a brilliant finish of his own after Lewandowski returned the favour.
