The Andalusians arrive having beaten Barcelona in Catalonia last season

It was an unexpected blow. Barcelona had gone 46 games in La Liga without defeat until Real Betis arrived and shome, playing attacking, exciting football. On November 11, 2018, they triumphed at Camp Nou, led by Junior Firpo, who has since signed for Barcelona.

Quique Setien's side, as admired as they were questioned, earned a 4-3 victory against Barcelona and hope to repeat the trick on Sunday when they come calling again.

Even Lionel Messi's presence - back after five games out injured - could avoid defeat for Barca. And in the home game before, Barcelona had beaten Real Madrid 5-0.

The defeat was Barcelona's last at home and they went on to win La Liga comfortably. They drew against Valencia 2-2 at home, but won the rest of their games - Villarreal (2-0), Celta (2-0), Eibar (3-0), Leganés (3-1), Valladolid (1-0), Rayo (3-1), Espanyol (2-0), Atlético (2-0), Real Sociedad (2-1), Levante (1-0) and Getafe (2-0).
