Raphinha is Barcelona's second top scorer and has the most assists
The Brazilian has turned up his output since Dembele got injured
Little by little, Raphinha is growing at Barça. This is indicated by his numbers: the Brazilian is already the second top scorer on the team and has the most assists. The former Leeds United player has nine goals and nine assists after leading Barça to another 1-0 win at San Mamés against Athletic Club on Sunday.
The Brazilian is taking advantage of the absence of Ousmane Dembélé, who has been injured for weeks, to claim his place as the right winger, his favourite position, in Xavi's side. Against Athletic, he was once again a starter in a Barça side that played the first 45 minutes with three forwards.
Xavi opted for a 4-3-3 formation, with the presence of Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres and Raphinha in the XI. The Brazil international did not have continuity in the game but was decisive with his goal in the final stretch of the first half.
A goal with suspense because it had initially been disallowed for a supposed offside. The intervention from VAR corrected the referee's mistake and the goal counted. Raphinha scored with a great strike from inside the area after good work from Sergio Busquets.
