The Croatian spoke after the 5-0 win over Eibar on Saturday

Ivan Rakitic highlighted the connection between the fans and the players during Barcelona's 5-0 win over Eibar.

The game started with fans waving handkerchiefs and whistling the board for the 'Barcagate' crisis. They ended up in applause for the team.

Rakitic didn't want to get too controversial. "Fans have the liberty to say what they like. We felt support from the fans and we enjoyed it together, which is what we want."

On Messi, who hadn't scored in four games before he hit four today, Rakitic added: "These weeks he didn't score but he was very close, shooting 10 or 12 times per game. Even when he wanted to give an assist (today) he scored. It's important he's at his best because he's important for us."

On Braithwaite he added: "We know he's a very strong forward who adds depth to the play, I'm very happy for him."
