Rakitic set for Sevilla move as he moves into final year of Barça deal
The Croatian's time at Camp Nou is drawing to an end
Ivan Rakitic has been the focus of attention during recent transfer windows but it seems that he will finally leave Barcelona this coming summer.
The midfielder has had big offers in the past, although he has always prioritised staying in Spain and Barcelona. With his cycle at Camp Nou approaching the end, his preference would be to return to Sevilla, even though he would earn less there than elsewhere.
Sevilla have sounded out the situation and Barça will now just look to get the best deal possible. Rakitic looks set to return to Seville, where he met his wife.
Barça have spoken with Rakitic's representatives to find a solution. He has one year left on his deal and there's no chance his contract will be renewed. There are no complaints about his professionalism.
The Catalan club are impressed with how he's dealt with tough moments recently, never giving up. However, they would still like to sell him at the end of the season.
Rakitic has always fought to stay at the club but, now the end is nearing, he's excited about a return to Sevilla, a club with whom he has a brilliant relationship.
