Rakitic "doesn't know" if Vidal played more because he is Messi's friend
The Croatian midfielder spoke to Radio Marca and Cope after being presented as a Sevilla player
Ivan Rakitic is already a Sevilla player. The former Barça midfielder was given a fitting sent off after spending six years at the Camp Nou but, on Thursday evening, he caused quite a stir with his response to a question about Arturo Vidal.
Rakitic was asked if Arturo Vidal played more than him last season "because he was Messi's friend" and he didn't exactly shut down that idea. "I don't know about that. I always wanted to be available for the coach and there were some decisions I didn't understand, but I accepted them for the good of the group."
The Croatian also spoke about his relationship with Messi. "I can't say we were best friends but Leo has always treated me well." On a possible departure, Rakitic didn't want to say much. "Don't talk to me about his exit. I've only learnt about this through the media."
