The Croatian scored the only goal of Saturday's game at the Bernabeu

Clasico match winner Ivan Rakitic told Barcelona fans to enjoy a few beers after the Catalans moved 12 points clear of Real Madrid in La Liga.

Rakitic scored the only goal of the game as Barça beat Madrid for the second time in a week having knocked them out of the Copa del Rey on Wednesday.

The win more or less knocks Madrid out of the title race, with Atletico still Barça's closest challengers, 10 points back with a game in hand.

"You're always happy when you win here," Rakitic told Movistar. "I'm proud of how the team played. There aren't many teams that can say that they won two times in three days here. Well deserved. We had to fight and we did."

Despite winning 3-0 on Wednesday and 1-0 on Saturday, the general consensus was that Barça played better in the second game.

"Every game is different," Rakitic added. "We'd analysed and spoken about what happened on Wednesday. We started well tonight, we created danger and we were comfortable. They pressed in the second half but we could have killed the game on the counter attack."

Rakitic says there's still a long way to go in the title race -- despite Barça's masive lead -- and urged supporters just to enjoy the moment.

He finished: "With all respect for Real Madrid, there's still a long way to go. This is a big step forward but there's still a long way to go. We have to enjoy this win together -- all Barcelona fans should have some beers and enjoy it."
