The ex-Barça coach is ready to take the Catalan club to court if necessary

Former Barcelona coach Quique Setien says he will file a lawsuit against the Catalan club for not getting in contact with him to negotiate his severance pay.

In fact, he went one step further and claimed Barça have still not officially communicated to him that he's been fired after being replaced by Ronald Koeman in August.

"Barça have not compensated me, nor have they offered me anything," Setien told Cadena COPE. "They have not even called me to tell me that I am dismissed."

Setien, who was coach of Barça in the second half of the 2019-2020 season, had one more year on his contract with the club, but the board chaired by Josep Maria Bartomeu at the time decided to relieve him of his duties after the defeat in the quarterfinals of the Champions League against Bayern Munich.

Setien also clarified that the lawsuit against FC Barcelona "was filed more than a month ago, before the deadline expired."

He is appealing for breach of contract, since he does not agree with the amounts that Barcelona offered him at the time.
