'L'Equipe' asegura que el PSG confía en sellar la renovación del brasileño

Paris Saint-Germain will not "give" Neymar away in the case that they're unable to reach an agreement to extend his contract, which expires in 2022.

The former Barcelona player will be free in just over 18 months if he does not sign new terms with the French club before then.

According to L'Equipe, the PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, will not sell Neymar for less than €100 million, though, even if he risks seeing him walk away for nothing.

Therefore, the candidates jostling for the president at Barça who have said they want Neymar back now know how much a deal will cost.

The French paper also says that PSG are optimistic of getting Neymar to renew before the World Cup in Qatar in 2022, although there's been no breakthrough in negotiations yet.

PSG are also said to be hopeful that Kylian Mbappe, also out of contract in 2022, will renew, despite the links with Spanish champions Real Madrid.

The financial crisis many clubs are having in Europe due to the coronavirus pandemic is helping PSG, as potential buyers are unable to find the funds for a fee and wages for Neymar and Mbappe.

PSG have a certain amount of financial muscle in that sense due to their ownership model and Al-Khelaïfi knows that.
