PSG are willing to do whatever it takes to bring in Matthijs de Ligt this summer. Over the last few days the negotiations between the two sides have intensified and they are now confident of securing a deal for the defender.
Leonardo, the new director of football at PSG, has a fantastic relationship with Mino Raiola, de Ligt's agent. They have offer the Ajax captain a five year deal worth €15m per season. That's far and above the terms Barça presented to the player which was between €5m-€7m per campaign.
Not only is the offer to the player higher than what Barça bid, but so is the transfer fee. Bartomeu agreed a €75m deal with Ajax whereas PSG are willing to go up to €90m (€80+€10m in variables).
Barça are aware of the recent developments and that a deal for de Ligt could collapse.
