The battle between FC Barcelona and PSG for the signing of Frenkie De Jong only continues to intensify. After Josep Maria Bartomeu's trip to Amsterdam, where he attempted to convince the player to join Barça, PSG have shown their own hand: money.
The French champions have offered De Jong a blank cheque in order to secure the midfielder's signature. It's what Barcelona were concerned about because they know they won't be able to win a bidding war.
What Barça have under their sleeve is the temptation to play alongside the greatest player of all time, Lionel Messi. Lining up in LaLiga would allow him to progress in a competitive league, not like Ligue 1 which is dominated by PSG.
This means De Jong has a decision to make: does he take the riches on offer from PSG or does he line up for one of the most competitive sides in the world of football.
